Nanobased biosensor development
Biosensor technology is probably one of the fastest growing areas to solve some of these problems. Themain focusof research group working in nanobased biosensors is on the development of highly sensitive optical and electrical biosensors such as aptamer and antibody-based optical and electrochemical biosensors for biomedical sensing and imaging in collaboration with research team working on targeted delivery systems and also faculty of electrical and computer engineering of Tabriz university.
Working with stem cell specialists in school of medicine, we are developing biosensors for sensing stem cell biomarkers with focus on cancerous stem cells.
The research programs on nanobiosensing and imaging are currently focused on three major areas: (1) design, fabrication and characterization nanobiosensor for biomarker detection, in particular cancer biomarkers (2) photodynamic therapy, and (3) superparamagnetic and aptamer-based nanoplexes for stem cell tracking and new targeted drug delivery systems developed in our center.
